| Herzog + Lynch = AWESOME |

Directors Werner Herzog and David Lynch are teaming for "My Son, My Son," a horror-tinged murder drama based on a true story.
Herzog and his longtime assistant director Herbert Golder co-wrote "Son," loosely based on the true story of a San Diego man who acts out a Sophocles play in his mind and kills his mother with a sword.
The low-budget feature will flash back and forth from the murder scene to the disturbed man's story. A guerrilla-style digital video shoot on location is tentatively set for March. Lynch is executive producing the project.

Pop superstar Rihanna is set to make pop chart history today as she becomes the female artist with the biggest jump to number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song "Take a Bow" is expected to hurdle to the #1 spot on the singles chart from a faraway spot at #53. The song's huge leap is thanks to an impressive 267,000 digital download sales.
The song's big jump to the top, is second only to Maroon 5's "Makes Me Wonder", which came from #64 to grab the top spot in May 2007.
Rihanna and Maroon 5's collaboration "If I Never See Your Face Again" is expected to debut high on the charts when the countdown is released.

Evan, 20, and Larry, 60, will bring their romantic comedy to the silver screens in 2009.

| Yao 'saddened' by China quake |

HOUSTON (AP) -- Houston Rockets center Yao Ming said he was "saddened" by news of Monday's massive earthquake in China, calling it a "dark and emotional" time for his country.
The epicenter of the magnitude 7.9 quake was in the central Sichuan province. Officials said Tuesday the death toll was about 15,000 and expected to climb. The quake triggered landslides, leveled buildings and cracked dams.
Yao was born in Shanghai, on China's eastern coast.
"It is very hard putting into words how difficult it is to see this kind of destruction in Sichuan," Yao said in a statement. "I am very saddened to hear of the large loss of life that has occurred. My thoughts are with everyone back in my home country of China during this very dark and emotional time."
Yao is currently in Houston, recovering from a broken left foot that sidelined him for the last two months of the season. The Rockets lost to Utah in the first round of the playoffs.
Yao will soon appear in a public service announcement asking for aid for earthquake victims, said Rockets spokesman Nelson Luis.
"Right now, the most important thing we can do is to respond quickly to help those who cannot help themselves," Yao said. "I hope that many others around the world will join us."
Rockets owner Leslie Alexander pledged financial aid for victims. Alexander has business interests in China and several Rockets have shoe contracts with Chinese companies.
"Over the past several years, we have formed a strong bond with our friends in China and it is very difficult to see them struggling through this tragic event," Alexander said in a statement. "We have already begun the process of reaching out to relief aid agencies and have pledged our financial support to assisting those who have been devastated by this catastrophic event. I know Yao Ming is fully committed to helping the people of China recover from this horrific experience and I will help him in any way I can."

Despite a flurry of engagement rumors, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson – Hollywood's most notorious on-again, off-again couple – have called it quits, less than two months after rekindling their romance in Miami.
The end of their erratic courtship (they began dating in September '06) comes amid erroneous reports that the pair were engaged, fueled by photos of Hudson wearing a Tiffany & Co. ring (it was a prop!) both on-and-off set of her film Bride Wars, which she's filming in Boston.
"It was a pretty bad breakup," says a Wilson pal. "Owen said it was a tough one. He definitely doesn't want to dwell on it. He wants to put it behind him."
Since the split, Hudson, 29, and Wilson, 39, have each been spotted letting loose. On May 9, Hudson and Bride Wars costar Steve Howey, 30, visited Boston's Liberty Hotel bar, Alibi. And on May 11, Wilson dropped by N.Y.C.'s Upstairs with two women.
"He was pretty chummy with the ladies ... he was certainly doing some sweet talking," according to an onlooker. "He looked happy to be there hanging with them." The late-night outing was followed by a visit to Butter the next night, where he chatted up a sexy blonde. Says a Hudson source: "She feels dumb thinking it was so serious."

The actress recently told press that her pregnancy was no accident.
Alba explained, “I can’t say it was a total accident. Because you’re aware of when you’re being careful and when you’re not. It just happened so soon.”
The 27-year-old continued, “I never believed women had to be virgins when they got married, or that a woman has to fall in love with a guy just because they’re having sex. I don’t think sex is a big deal.”

| Rosie & Fran Drescher In Talks For a New Show |

 At a luncheon in her honor at The Friars Club in Manhattan Thursday, Fran Drescher (The Nanny) shared a details about the television show she and Rosie O’Donnell are in the process of developing — a show that they would costar in if it becomes a reality.
“It’s called The New 30, and it’s about old friends who are living very different lives, but they live in the same building in Murray Hill, Manhattan,” Drescher explained. “It’s basically about middle-aged women on the verge of a midlife crisis.”
O’Donnell herself had talked about developing a show with Drescher on her blog in the past, but this is the first time a title has been revealed. “We’re in talks with NBC,” Drescher says. “It’s not real yet, but we’re talking to NBC, so we’ll see what happens!”

Extra's AJ Calloway sat down with the mother-daughter team, who went on the record about an alleged lesbian relationship between Lindsay and DJ Sam Ronson. "They're just best friends," insists Ali, 14. Dina adds, "Samantha's an amazing girl." .
In response to the tabloid reports bashing the Lohan family, Dina says, "I've learned to just deal with it. It's so silly. We actually laugh about it now ... It really does hurt, but you develop a thick skin. You have to ignore it."
As for the television show, they explain their reasons behind taking part in it. Dina replies with "To set the record straight as to who we are as people." Ali adds, "My mom is just a regular mom trying to help her kids follow their dreams."
